One honest note up front: this is a lake, not San Diego Bay or the ocean. You won’t see the Pacific or the city skyline from the boat. What you get is calm water, a private gondola, and two unhurried hours with dinner on board. We’re an inland lake a short drive from Oceanside and Carlsbad, so if you’re searching for a dinner cruise near the coast, this is a quieter, more private alternative.
We run authentic Venetian gondolas, shipped over from Venice, Italy. You step aboard at the dock, settle in, and glide out onto still water while your food is served. The boat is yours alone, never shared with another party.
Romantic music plays throughout, and blankets are on board for cooler evenings. Two hours is long enough to eat slowly, talk, and enjoy the lake without watching the clock. The food comes from Amalfi Cucina Italiana, the Italian restaurant right next to our dock. The menu changes, so we don’t publish a fixed list of dishes.

If two hours and dinner is more than you’re after, our Sunset Cruise is a private 50-minute ride, from $179 for two guests. It’s the same gondola and the same lake, without the meal. Many couples pair it with dinner at Amalfi before or after.
The dock is at 1035 La Bonita Dr in San Marcos, in North County San Diego. Amalfi Cucina Italiana is right next to the dock, and The Lakehouse Resort is steps away if you want to stay the night.
Because the restaurant is next door, the kitchen and the boat are only steps apart. You board, your food arrives, and the evening unfolds on the water.
